NG28 provides SLCP verification services related to social responsibility audits. SLCP (Social and Labor Convergence Project), or "Social and Labor Integration Project Verification", is a program that emphasizes multi-party participation and collaboration. It promotes an effective integrated evaluation framework to replace the existing dedicated evaluation tools for various industries, avoid duplication and reduce the number of social labor audits, and provide support for various stakeholders to improve working conditions in the global apparel and footwear supply chain
The social responsibility status within the supply chain has become a key factor for businesses to gain the favor of brands and retailers, especially for some global development methods that are labor-intensive, such as garment and footwear enterprises. The supply chain is a complex system that relies on a large workforce during product production. Many companies, in order to obtain cheap labor, will reduce production costs, which often leads to poor working conditions, forced labor, and discrimination issues being concealed. Moreover, as more and more companies join the ranks of social labor audits by brands and retailers, many other problems also arise.
For example, some factories may even undergo more than 10 social labor responsibility audits each year, which not only occupies a large amount of human, material, and financial resources of the enterprise but also directly leads to audit fatigue in the enterprise. The initiation of SLCP is precisely to eliminate this audit fatigue in enterprises, aiming to improve the working conditions of workers.
